The Kaduna Centre for the Study of Christian-Muslim Relations (KCSCMR) was formally established as a registered study center in 2012 August with registration number CAC/IT/NO 55171 by the Most Revd. Dr. Idowu Fearon, then Bishop of the Diocese of Kaduna, now the Secretary-General of the Anglican Communion Worldwide and the current director of the Kaduna Centre.
Over the years, the Kaduna Centre has been effectively engaged in running enlightenment programs and initiatives for Christian and Muslim communities that foster better knowledge and understanding of Islam and Muslims; thus, facilitating interfaith cooperative behavior in an atmosphere of harmony and peaceful coexistence that is so vital to all-round sectoral development.
The center offers educational and enlightenment workshops and seminars on Christian-Muslim Relations. The Study Centre Initiative has therefore focused on offering Certificate and Diploma programs—primarily on Islam and Christian faith—that equip registered Christian and Muslim clerics, leaders, and Lay faithful with adequate knowledge and understanding of Muslims and Islamic doctrines, precepts and practices.
In addition, the programs are designed for candidates from both religious backgrounds to acquire relevant knowledge of the common scriptural heritage, despite differences in the two major religions.
Since its inception, the initiative has also organized vocational workshops, seminars, and corresponding Programs are organized through the sessions for interested candidates of both Religions.
