Affiliate Centers
The Network of Centers for Christian-Muslim Relations (NCCMR) offers a multifaceted and strategic partnership for Western institutions dedicated to advancing interfaith dialogue. Affiliate Membership is specifically designed for academic, religious, or interfaith bodies in the Western World, providing a structured pathway to engage with and support a global mission of fostering Christian-Muslim understanding and social cohesion.
Affiliate Members enter a prestigious, multi-regional community of scholars and practitioners across Africa, Asia, and the MENA region. This facilitates invaluable cross-cultural relationships and collaboration on joint research projects, publications, and international initiatives. Furthermore, the Network provides access to specialized training, summer schools, and resources in religious literacy and peacebuilding, enhancing member institutions’ own programs. Affiliation also boosts an institution’s global visibility through the NCCMR’s platform and aligns it with a network supported by respected partners like the Templeton Religion Trust.
Crucially, the role of an Affiliate Member is complementary. While Full Members based in the Majority World lead on-the-ground initiatives and take an active role in governance and decision-making at NCCMR, Affiliate Members contribution is limited to their academic expertise, institutional strength, and technical capacity to support these efforts. This creates a symbiotic relationship where Western institutions can meaningfully contribute to global peacebuilding by aligning with the NCCMR’s charter and supporting its academic and strategic objectives. Ultimately, Affiliate Membership is not merely a title but an active, collaborative commitment to promoting Christian-Muslim harmony on a worldwide scale.
