Youth in Action for Social Cohesion in Pakistan: Fostering Christian–Muslim Dialogue and Partnership

Overview

A three-month, youth-centered initiative in Pakistan combining a national consultation workshop and a five-episode podcast series to empower Christian and Muslim youth champions, shape public discourse, and co-create policy-ready recommendations that strengthen social cohesion.

Operating in a context of polarized narratives and minority marginalization, Youth in Action for Social Cohesion positioned Christian and Muslim youth as primary agents of change. The project delivered two integrated interventions:

  1. a youth-only national consultation designed as a safe space for candid dialogue and joint problem-solving; and
  2. a professionally produced five-episode podcast series amplifying balanced, faith-grounded messages of dignity (izzat), shared humanity (insaniyat), and reconciliation (sulah).
  3. Together, these components built trust, generated SMART recommendations for policymakers, and established a cross-faith youth network to sustain momentum beyond the project period.

This project demonstrates that youth—when given safe platforms and practical tools—generate sophisticated, context-grounded solutions to entrenched Christian–Muslim divides. The empowered network, high-quality digital content, and concrete advocacy agenda create a durable base for scale. With continued support, the model can be institutionalized (e.g., an Annual National Summit on Christian–Muslim Youth Leadership) to embed youth voices in national policymaking and transform interfaith relations from fragile dialogue into structured partnership for a peaceful, inclusive Pakistan.
